Dee Mangels, Secretary
Dee Mangels currently serves as the Secretary of the Cordillera Foundation and as staff support for the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen. For many years, she worked as legal secretary to Cordillera's first president, James E Bye, both in his role as attorney and as prominent philanthropist. Over a period of more than 35 years, Ms. Mangels has seen the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen grow from 30 attorneys to over 250 attorneys. As Jim Bye reached his retirement years, the two of them saw philanthropy develop as an increasingly important facet of the work they shared.
Ms. Mangels is a native Coloradoan, born at the original Fitzsimmons Army Hospital during the time her father served in the Korean War. She and her husband Bill have three adult sons, two of whom live in Colorado, while the oldest lives with his wife and three children in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Mangels has an Associates degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University and for 17 years served as Chair of the Finance Committee for a metropolitan Denver Lutheran church.
